St Joseph's Sends a Smile

he children of St Joseph’s have sent 161 smiles to children in India through the Blue Peter ‘Send a Smile’ appeal.

As part of our Healthy School Week, our pupils learnt about the lives of children born with cleft lips and palates in a country where medical help is not available. By making and decorating hospital gowns from old t-shirts they have enabled more children to have this life-changing operation through the charity Operation Smile. Pupils held a fashion show to show off their gown designs and created their own ‘Smile Appeal’ television programme, broadcast during our Friday assembly. We are very proud of our pupils and their families for their wholehearted support for children in countries less fortunate than our own.
